町の概要

河南町は、大阪府の南東部に位置し、大阪市の中心部から25キロメートル圏にあります。

町域は、東西6.7キロメートル、南北7.5キロメートルにひろがり、周囲が37.6キロメートル、面積は25.26平方キロメートルです。
北は太子町、西は富田林市、南は千早赤阪村と境を接し、東は葛城山脈の稜線が奈良県の葛城市、御所市に接しています。

河南町の地形は、金剛・葛城山脈に連なる山地部とその前面に広がる丘陵地、段丘地からなり、町域の3分の1の山地部が金剛生駒紀泉国定公園に指定されています。

また、古くから開けたこの地には、さまざまな古墳、遺跡などの文化財があり、自然と歴史に恵まれた緑豊かな文化の町です。

河南町の主な交通機関は、バスとなっており近鉄長野線の富田林駅と喜志駅に連絡しています。
特に国道309号は、バイパス(大阪千早線)が中地区まで開通し、今後も町南部への延伸が予定されているなど、きわめて重要な幹線道路となっています。

河南町の産業は、農業が大きな比重を占めており、ナス、キュウリなどを生産する都市近郊農業や観賞用樹(植木)の栽培が盛んです。
また、金属製品製造業、パルプ・紙・紙加工品製造業などの立地もみられます。

土地利用は、面積の過半を山林が占め、農地、水面を加えて緑地系が4分の3を占めていますが、丘陵地において住宅団地が造成されています。
また、大阪芸術大学、近つ飛鳥風土記の丘、近つ飛鳥博物館などの教育文化施設の立地もみられます。

人口・世帯数は、昭和31年9月30日に9,322人(1,783世帯)で町制がスタートし、その後横ばいで推移してきました。
昭和45年から始まった大宝住宅団地や平成5年からのさくら坂住宅団地の入居などににより人口は増加し、平成22年10月1日現在、人口1万7,040人、6,426世帯（平成22年国勢調査）となっています。

英訳（English translation）

Kanan town is located in the southeastern part in Osaka Prefecture, and it is in 25km bloc from the central part of Osaka City.
An area is 25.26 km2 in the town stage 37.6km the circumference where expanse east and west in north and south 7.5 km、6.7km.

They touch each other, and the crest line of the Katsuragi Mauntains touches  Katsuragi City of Nara Prefecture,  Gose City in the north in Taishi town, the west in Tondabayashi City, the south in the east Chihayaakasaka village and the border.

The geographical features of Kanan town consist of a hill area to spread out in the mountains district part which ranges to Kongo/Katsuragi mountains, and that front,  hills and terraces area, and 1/3 of the mountains district parts of the town stage have them specified in a/Kisen quasi-national park.

Moreover, there are various ancient tombs, cultural properties such as remains in this ground which has been opened since the old days, and it is the town of the culture that green favored in the nature and the history is rich.

The main means of transportation of Kanan town is a bus, and it is being told in Tondabayashi station of Kintetsu Nagano line and Kishi station.A bypass (Osaka Chihaya line) is opened specially to Naka area, and it is a very important trunk road that extend to the town southern part is scheduled from now on, too, as for national route No.309.

Agriculture occupies big specific gravity, and the city suburbs agriculture which produces an eggplant, a cucumber, and so on, and the cultivation of the tree (garden plant) for the enjoyment are popular in the industry of Kanan town.
And, location such as the metal goods manufacturing industry, the pulp, paper, paper manufactured goods manufacturing industry is seen, too.

A forest occupies over-half of the area, and a residence housing development is developed as for the land use the agricultural land, the surface of the water  in the hill area though it is added and a green land occupies 3/4.
And, Osaka university of arts, the hill of “Chikatsu-Asuka Fudoki-no Oka”park area
the location of the education cultural facilities such as Chikatsu-Asuka museum are seen, too.

A town system started with 9,322 people (1,783 households) on September 30, the 31st year of Showa, and the population, number of households was changing in flat movement after that.

Population has increased by the move of Daiho housing development where it began in the 45th year of Showa, and Sakura-zaka housing development from the 5th year of Heisei.
It is the population (in the 2010, census) of 17,040 people 6,426 households on October 1, 2010 at present.

菜の花畑が黄色を鮮やかにし、華麗で秀麗に咲く桜で山々がピンク色に染まり、人々の躍動が始まります。

人々は、山々に涼しさを求め、子どもたちも大きな水しぶきとともに、元気いっぱいはしゃぎ回ります。

山々を錦に染める紅葉、あかね色の夕焼けが、かなんの秋のフィナーレを告げます。

寒さの厳しい年は、白一色の冬景色へと変ぼうします。山々の白雪が、冬の太陽に照らされてきらきらと輝く景色は、幻想的な趣があります。
